We’ve kicked off the new year with some exciting news – our Staff Accountant & Benefits Administrator, Camille Capers, is now a Certified Staffing Professional (CSP)! Camille was hard at work at the end of 2017, studying from the American Staffing Association’s study tool and workbook; at the very end of 2017 – literally December 30th – Camille ended the year with a bang, taking her CSP exam and earning her CSP certification with flying colors! We couldn’t be prouder of her dedication to earning one of the most sought-after and essential credentials for staffing professionals everywhere.
The American Staffing Association Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) certification provides credibility to a professional’s experience in and knowledge of employment and labor law – at both state and federal levels – and the ins-and-outs of staffing at large. The topics covered in the CSP program are beneficial to everyone working in the staffing business – from recruiters to executives and everyone in-between who may deal with contractors, employees, and the clients that hire them. To keep a CSP certification active, professionals must earn 30 continuing education hours before the certification expiration every three years. This ensures that even seasoned staffing professionals are keeping up with the most up-to-date laws.
As a result, working with a Certified Staffing Professional has its benefits. Partnering with a CSP means you’ll have a go-to resource about everything from wage laws to discrimination. Legally, CSPs are a great asset to companies, protecting interests while ensuring every piece of their hiring process is lawful.
The exam is two-hours long and comprised of 100 true-or-false and multiple-choice questions. The exam can be taken from a personal computer within one year of the purchase date. The ASA prefaces 80 questions are regarding federal laws, while 20 are state-specific, with users specifying their state upon purchase.
In addition to Camille, we also have two other team members who have earned and maintained their CSP titles, too. Cory Snively, our Operations Manager, earned his CSP in 2015 and Lindsay Lundberg, our Vice President, earned her CSP in 2010. In addition to three CSPs, we also have Senior Recruiter, Gayle Luchini, who earned her PHR certification in mid-2017.
