This fall seems to be full of fantastic networking opportunities and the Parker team is having a blast getting out in our community, seeing old friends and meeting new people!
Last week saw us at the Social Media Club Seattle’s monthly event featuring David Armano, a senior vice president at Edelman Digital. This event was all about “Building Social Embassies” and David shared great information on how to utilize the various aspects of social media to empower community managers and fans or your brand to get the word out! Sponsored by Swedish Medical Center, we walked away with hand sanitizer and “Prevent H1Nerd1″ t-shirts. Score!
Wednesday night, the Parker Technical team head to the Spitfire Grill to test our knowledge of the local Seattle tech trivia at the Puget Sound Business Journal’s TechFlash Meetup. Going up against some pretty stiff competition, we held our own with a (to be disputed) respectable 19 points. But there was no stopping the juggernaut of Off & Away who scored 31 out of a possible 34 points! Special thanks to Doug Aley from Off & Away for buying our team a couple of pitchers for getting the question featuring their company correct. Definitely helped to ease the sting of defeat.
We’re really excited for what the rest of this month has to bring as far as opportunities to get out in our community!
On the books so far: Social Media Club Seattle Education Event this Friday @ Thinkspace (Personal and Small Business Branding in the Age of Social Media) and Girl Power Hour on November 18 (Making Sense of New Media).
