Elizabeth Chan, Parker’s Director of Human Resources, just returned from the annual Society for Human Resources conference in sunny San Diego!
This year’s event was especially informational given the current state of our economy and it’s impact on human resources and employment. Included among the keynote speakers were former Vice President Al Gore and motivational speaker/ trainer/author Marcus Buckingham.
Elizbeth has been to a number of these conferences over the years but found this year’s particulary poignant. She had this to say:
“With changes in the past year in the work environment, collapse in the economy and new laws, this year’s 62nd annual SHRM conference was so relevant in helping shape HR’s role to meet the challenges that businesses face today. The energy at the conference was heartfelt and full of great information – learning from the best, insights on best practices and focused business strategies just to name a few. It was one of the best conferences I have attended.”
