Join Parker for the 30th Annual Seattle End AIDS Walk!

Sep. 7, 2016 Staffing News

Did you know that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Seattle AIDS Walk? We remember because we were there as “Parker Personnel,” a temp agency dedicated to staffing office employees across the Puget Sound. Though we still work to staff administrative positions, we’ve expanded into the Parker Staffing Services you know and love – adding HR and Customer Service staffing to our repertoire!

…But we’re not the only ones with a name change! What was once just the “Seattle AIDS Walk” is now the “Seattle End AIDS Walk.”  For thirty years, the Seattle community has come together to fight back against HIV and AIDS and eliminate the stigma attached to it. Thanks to organizations like the Lifelong AIDS Alliance, our community has seen a drastic decrease in new cases of HIV in recent years. Because of the medical progress and programs from community organizations, the end of AIDS is in sight! With help from the community, Lifelong can work to bring the number of new cases to zero

1st Seattle AIDS WalkWalk with us for Seattle’s 2016 End AIDS Walk

We are joining Lifelong and several other local businesses on September 24th at 10am for the 2016 Seattle End AIDS Walk! Hundreds of locals – including the Parker Staffing Team – will gather at Volunteer Park in Capitol Hill… and we’re inviting you to come walk with us, too!

In the month leading up to the walk, teams have been working tirelessly to fund raise! So far, the Parker Team has raised almost $1,300, but our goal is to exceed $2,500. Around the office, we’re hosting fundraising initiatives like a change jar, a silent auction, a bake sale – and more!

But as an internal team of 20, we can’t do it alone. Your help, paired with our fundraising initiatives above, can and will blow our $2,500 goal out of the water! In addition to your donation being tax deductible, 90¢ of every dollar you donate goes directly to serving our community members suffering with HIV, AIDS and other chronic conditions.

It is our hope that after this year we won’t need another Seattle End AIDS Walk! The cure for HIV is on the horizon, but it is up to us to step in and raise funds and awareness to help find it. Are you ready to help us make this AIDS Walk the very last?
