Marketing communications manager—direct hire

The challenge

When the vice president of marketing at Talyst needed a full-time marketing communications manager, he asked Parker Search Consultant Mona Valdok to recruit for the position. Bellevue, Washington-based Talyst provides automation for the central pharmacy by integrating key medication handling technologies, including packaging, labeling, inventory, and storage solutions.

The vice president wanted someone with not only the right talent, experience, and skills but also the “chemistry” that would ensure he or she would be a productive, complementary member of his team. He chose Mona because of her collaborative approach and her ability to look beyond the job description to recruit to the spirit of what the client is looking for.

The Parker Search solution

In response, Mona submitted eight well-qualified candidates. The vice president chose to interview six of them and brought back two for a second round of interviews. His preferred candidate—who ultimately accepted the position—came in a final time and interviewed with members of the senior management team. With thirteen years of experience, she clearly was a proven performer with the right level of expertise. Equally important, she won everyone over for exhibiting the kind of personality that demonstrated she would fit right in.

That search went so well that Mona is now in the process of sourcing a marketing analyst who will report to the marketing communications manager.
