The challenge

Perkins Coie, a prestigious international law firm headquartered in Seattle, is a long-term Parker client. The firm called Parker Staffing in August to find an event coordinator to help put on their attorney conference in October in Arizona. They wanted an extremely organized individual who could communicate effectively with their employees and their families. In addition to coordinating travel itineraries, hotel reservations, and meeting room space, this person would also plan evening events and outside activities for family members. The candidate needed to be available for the duration of the assignment and to travel to Arizona for on-site support. Because of the size of the event and the complexity of the logistics, this person had to hit the ground running.

The Parker Staffing solution

The Parker recruiter’s first step was to meet with the manager to understand the full scope of the project and the personality type that would work best in the role. She then searched for a Parker associate who had the hard skills, experience, and personality that Perkins needed. Once she identified that individual, she arranged for an interview with the manager leading the project. The meeting went well, and the Parker associate started the job in late August. The recruiter stayed in contact with the manager throughout the project to confirm that the associate was performing well. The event was a huge success, and the manager even extended the associate’s assignment after the event to tie up loose ends.
